This game features gameplay requiring mashing a button. Select "Start (easy mashing)" if you would prefer to heavily reduce the amount of button pressing required to pass the votes.

This is a game for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and has been tested to work on real hardware. It was made for the Touhou Fan Game Jam 15 in a little over a week.

Note: Unfortunately there was no time for music during the jam period, but hopefully it can be added at a later date.

Story

Centuries ago, some time before Gensokyo was separated from the outer world, Hell underwent a seismic shift. Due to a collapse in conditions and paralysis of structures, it was built anew in another location as New Hell, leaving some behind in what's now known as Former Hell.

A leading figure in this event was Zanmu Nippaku, a former sengoku era monk turned oni, whom as a kishin (powerful oni) acted as one of the leaders in Hell. These days, Zanmu is practically the ruler of New Hell in her own right.

Before the relocation, the oni and kishin formed the "Oni Council" to try to fix the many problems facing the realms of Hell through discussion, debate, and votes. As part of this Council, Zanmu sets about trying to save Hell - one way or another.

Gameplay

This is a visual novel game with some button mashing elements.

Progress through the story by pressing any face button (Z or SPACEBAR when playing on web). Use the arrow keys to select choices. Mash face buttons during votes in order to spend your influence, countering the slideback. Win the votes by filling the bar fully your colour or being past halfway when the timer ends.

Make choices wisely, as poor decisions may mean you can't win future votes!

Characters

Zanmu Nippaku - main character. One of the strongest oni, with a penchant for making good use of power.
Hisami Yomotsu - Zanmu's faithful(?) assistant. Her day job is to drag people to Hell.
Yuugi Hoshiguma - An oni who values strength (like all of them, I suppose). Mostly holds parties.
Suika Ibuki - An easygoing but observant oni. Probably drinks too much.
Yuuma Toutetsu - A nobody, for now. She likes to work alone, but at least she's good at it.
